The Flat-panel Mounting Shuffle

So, finally made his decision on a new flat panel TV from your apartment! Awesome!
Whether you went with plasma or an LCD is still a mystery from the past, only to be replaced with another disturbing question:
Should I hang the TV on the wall or put it on a stand?
While many naturally gravitate to the space saving benefits and wonderful positive to hang your beautiful new entertainment mecca on the wall, there are several things to consider before doing so.
First, mounting a TV on a wall inevitably leave some holes when taken down. This becomes an additional challenge for you when one day take the TV down, because it will be to you to fix and paint over the holes. If you were to not patch up, your apartment may end up charging for the damage.
It is also important to note that while you are saving some space because the flat panel is attached to the wall, you can still have a place to put the DVD player, Nintendo Wii, or old school VCR. Not only that, but will also take all appropriate cables and operation of these peripherals on TV. How are you going to hide cables? You can try a tall plant or a dresser, but then won''t save floor space much after all, right?
With all these things in mind, I personally took the decision to go with a nice TV stand to hold the TV and all peripherals all low. Still looks great, was very close in price to a wall mount, and it is about the size of an entertainment center and the best part is that I can move it anytime you want without drills, screws, and holes in the wall!
For Apartmentite, I think the choice is obvious. . . go with a stand. What do you think? I'd love to know if any of them mounted on a wall in her apartment and how was it? Share! Please!
