need help on lcd 32″ flat screen tv. please!?

okay, first off, i am only looking at wal-mart. i am an employee and get a discount. so what i need is an lcd 32" flat screen. which should i choose? i don't know what to look for. i know lcd uses less energy and i don't have to worry about "burns" in the screen. from what i see, a 1080p is the best? i'm looking especially at the samsung but it is a 720p. i just don't know. help please.
