i have a 46′ flat screen lcd tv. it got hit and now has a line that goes across the screen. how much to fix it?

my son threw a toy at my 46' rca lcd flat screen tv. it started out as a little dot and its now a line that is spreading across the middle of the screen. do you think it would be the same to buy a whole new tv and pray it doesnt happen again or would it be cheaper to fix the screen.
