can you play with the ps3 slim in your panasonic flat screen tv full hd?

My dad told me that you cant because in he's work they after they set one they told the owner of the tv that you cant use any kind of game on the tv or it will brake.Can someone tell me if this is true or my dad is ling to me and if is false please send me a link that showing it not true so i can show it to my dad and burnnnnnnnnnnn him XD
